Epicycles or The Truth is Always Simple

The truth is simple.

Sierpinski triangle sponge
Fractals can appear complex but they’re built from simple patterns and simple rules repeated many times.

Just like a fractal.

A fractal can appear complex but is always simple underneath. That’s what gives them their elegance, as well as universal application.

You’ve experience this yourself many times. Whenever you learned something new it seemed complex and confusing, but as soon as you ‘got it’ it was suddenly simple. Just how well you can hold on through the confusion, until you get to the simplicity, has a lot to do with how much you learn in life.

Confusion is mental pain. Just as with physical pain, our mental pain can be either good or bad. If you’ve ever been to a yoga class, or pushed yourself in a workout, you’ll know what I mean.

Good physical pain is that achy stretch pain that means your body’s working beyond its usual capacity – but bad pain is hot or sharp pain. It’s important to tell the difference between good and bad pain because good pain means keep going but bad pain means stop before you do damage.

If you think all pain is bad pain you’ll never get fit because you’ll avoid it – you’ll stop if you feel any type of pain. That’s true if we’re talking about physical or mental pain. The more you’re able to tell good confusion (new truths) from bad confusion (lies) the more you’ll understand and be able to learn and grow.

This is where simplicity helps.

The truer something is the more simple it’s going to be. True things line up with universal reality, which lies don’t do. It’s explaining away the misalignments which make lies so complicated.

This has always been true, as epicycles demonstrate.

Epicycles were how they explained away the misalignments in our solar system created by insisting the sun, and all other planets, orbited round the earth – that our solar system was geocentric. The invention of telescopes showed up these misalignments as the planetary movements could be observed more closely – and they weren’t moving the way they should move if things really were geocentric.Epicycles1

Hanging on to the old belief felt less confusing, less mentally painful, than other possibilities. So, avoiding this pain, caused them to make things more complicated as they explained away the observed misalignments. They invented epicycles.

If the planets were going round smaller circles as they went round the bigger circle of their orbit the misalignments could be accounted for. Problem was that telescopes got better and better, which meant they needed epicycle on top of epicycle as the number of misalignments they had to explain away continued to increase. Things just kept getting more complicated.

Finally, Copernicus was able to realise the truth. The planets were heliocentric, not geocentric.

With the sun at the centre of things perception was aligned to reality and things were suddenly so much simpler. No more epicycles were needed.Epicycles

One significant advantage of simplicity is the clear focus it gives you. This level of clarity makes it easier for you to produce the results you’re after. It means that whenever you’re confused all you need to do is ask yourself – would things be simpler if that was true?

If the answer’s yes, then it probably is true. You’ll need to adapt to the new reality.

If the answer’s no, then it probably isn’t  true. You can forget about it.

There are other, simple ways to learn to discern the true. You have an inbuilt system which is actually part of your immune system. It’s not so much a way to tell the truth, but to know what things align to your personal expanded reality. You can learn how to work this part of your system through developing awareness of your Soul Seat.

What nail polish and water on the moon prove

moon and oceanAbundance is not just a state of mind, it is whole skill set.  Part of the skill set of abundance starts with knowing that there is always a way, there is always an answer.  In fact, it is knowing that the answer already exists, if we’re able to shift our perspective enough to see it.

Here are two recent examples of this:

My sister realised the ambition of a lifetime last week and left for a trip to Antartica.  So cool! (Literally and metaphorically.)  The night before she was due to get up at the crack of dawn to get on a plane to New Zealand, from where her boat will leave, she wanted to send a card to some relatives of her husband.  All good, but the difficulty was she wanted to paste a four-leaf clover into the card before she sent it, and she couldn’t find any glue.  It’s probably somewhere in my niece’s room, but as my niece does teenage housekeeping her whole room is a bombsite and the glue may or may not one day be excavated.  So my sister was getting anxious about getting this small job done before she left.

I happened to be staying with her that night. I didn’t have any glue with me. It’s not something I usually carry, and it was too late to go to any of the shops.  So what to do?

Get stressed and hunt through my niece’s bedroom?  Give up and leave the job incomplete?  Or assume there’s an answer and let it come to you?

I chose the last option.  A minute later I suggested she use nail polish, which my niece had and knew where that was. It worked very well.

This is why this is a skill of abundance.  When we realise there’s always a way there’s never any need for the answer to be ‘no’.  There’s always a way for it to be ‘yes’.

In the same way, I remember when I was young that the scientists considered it impossible that there was water to be found anywhere in the solar system except on the earth.  This was one of the largest obstacles to the thought of humanity having a permanent presence anywhere except on this planet.  But now they’re finding water is more abundant than they ever believed possible.  When they started looking for ways to make such a venture possible the ways began to turn up.  It’s even on the moon, and a new satellite is going to find out just how much.

Ritual of Cleansing and Release

cleansingandreleaseThis ritual is an application of the Law of Exchange. Rituals work because they are like living symbols.  It’s their symbolic content which directly impacts our subconscious but it is the living quality of these symbols that makes them so powerful because it is that which effects our Body’s consciousness.

This ritual is particularly helpful when we’re wanting to release something that has affected our body, like some old trauma, or something we’re finding it hard to let go of.  The reason we often find it hard to let go of things is because we know, as soon as we do, something else is going to turn up in its place.  Unconsciously we resist letting go because we don’t know what’s going to turn up next.  It’s a case of ‘better the devil we know, than the devil we don’t’.  By using this ritual we set clear guidelines as to what is going to turn up next.  It’s one of the reasons this is so effective.

For this ritual you will need:

Pen and paper

A lighted candle

A bowl of warm water (you can put some essential oils or rose petals in it) and a washcloth

A safe warm space  (This ritual may be done naked.)

Prepare by tearing the paper in half from top to bottom.  This will leaves us with a left-hand-side piece of paper, and a right-hand-side piece of paper.

The left represents the past.  Write on the left-hand-side piece of paper up to (meaning no more than) 5 things you wish to release.  The reason there is only 5 is because this ritual works and if you release too many things at once it will create chaos in your life.  You can always do the ritual again later.  Remember, you can grow easily and with grace.  Give yourself the grace of doing so.

The right represents the future.  So then on the right-hand-side piece of paper write one (1) appropriate thing you wish to receive in exchange for each thing released.  We should have an equal number of things on both pieces of paper.  Something appropriate doesn’t mean the exact opposite of the thing we release, but something meaningful and appropriate for where we’re at in our journey.  For example, if we release guilt we may wish to receive peace or serenity, or confidence or power.  Or if we release greed, we may want to receive clarity around your purpose, or unconditional love, or abundance.

Once we have our lists we’re ready to proceed. The ritual is simplicity itself.  You can dress it up, if that would feel more meaningful for you.

To perform the ritual, light the candle. Burn the left-hand-side piece of paper to release those things you want to release.

Then do a ritual washing from the top of your head to the bottom of your toes. This is the pattern in which things tend to leave our bodies. A ritual washing can be done with the bowl and the washcloth, or even in the shower.  The main thing is to wash yourself with focused intention that you are washing away the things you want to release.

When we’ve finished our ritual wash,we burn the right-hand-side piece of paper. We do this with the intention of opening to our desires.

Tip out the water when you’re done. Some people report the water seems heavier at the end. Perhaps it is from the weight of all those things released.  That is something you’ll have to make up your own mind about.

The only thing that remains to be done is to watch for the changes to flow through your life, and to look forward to our positive outcome.

Imaginary friends prove the wisdom of play

For many years we have all been told that having imaginary friends is a sign of a disturbed mind, that it is some kind of delusion to compensate for deep issues. As someone with invisible (not imaginary) friends, I’ve always found this attitude a strange one as I’ve been keenly aware of the profound benefits of their company in my own life.

Now Evan Kidd, senior lecturer in psychology at ANU, has started the work for us to understand these relationships in a different way.  It’s clear he believes invisible friends are imaginary, but he has done some well-designed research to determine what, if anything, is the effect of having imaginary friends.  And he has found that having such friends has enormous benefits.

The video here is of Evan Kidd, talking at TedX at Sydney. I’ll let him tell you himself about the benefits. Primarily he’s found that having imaginary (or, I suppose, invisible) friends helps us greatly with developing our ability to talk to people in different realities, which is what we’re doing when we’re children and talking to adults.

As he sees this very much in terms of his study of the importance of play he’s been able to apply these understandings to how important it is for all of us to learn through play. It’s through play we develop such higher skills, and so begin the development of our own wisdom.

Holographic Initiations in Brazil

DSCN0474
Holographic initiates with Dr Catherine Wilkins

Today we marked a milestone in Fractology. We had a group initiation into the hologram, and fractal perception which is enabled by holographic space. This initiation is done part-way through the Fractology Practitioner training and marks a milestone in our spiritual and metaphysical awareness.

This group initiation is a shift globally for Fractology, and for me personally as I haven’t initiated more than one person at a time into this space before now.

Fractology is growing up and going global.

Congratulations to all the initiates. The future for Sao Paulo is looking brighter by the minute.

Fractologia

Catherine and her advanced students in Sao Paulo
Catherine and her advanced students in Sao Paulo, Brazil

I’ve been working here in Sao Paulo for the past week. It’s always wonderful to work with a group of people so open and eager for the work and understanding that comes with it.

There’s a group of students I’ve been working with since the first time I came. They aren’t studying Fractology, as such, but many of the other advanced awareness techniques Fractology has developed. We meet now every trip for advanced lessons and their ability to now tune into a precise resonance is encouraging in so many ways.

It’s so long between trips I don’t think my Portuguese is getting much better though. Unless you count an additional couple of words getting better.

Fractologia is Portuguese for Fractology.
